Applications for the RIS 2026 competition are now open. The theme of this year’s competition is: Classification and Segmentation of Microbial Colonies.
Automatic segmentation and classification of bacterial colonies would significantly contribute to the automation of work in microbiological laboratories. They are distinguished from each other by color, shape, size, texture and growth rate. Imaging allows the capture of all this data, which can subsequently enable the separation of different types of microbes.
