On Wednesday February 12, dr. Sikha Okkath Krishnanunni will have a presentation entitled “From Black Box to Glass Box: Building Trust in AI with Explainability and Uncertainty”.

  •  Dr. Sikha O. K. received her B.Tech. degree in Information Technology from Calicut University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kerala, her M.Tech. degree in Computational Engineering and Networking from Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, and her Ph.D. in Computer Vision from Amrita University, India.
     
  • Currently, she is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the BCN MedTech research group, University of Pompeu Fabra (UPF), Barcelona, Spain. Prior to this, she was a visiting researcher at the Centre for Biomedical Engineering (CREB) research group at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain. She has also served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Amrita School of Computing, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, India.

  • Her research focuses on Explainable AI, Uncertainty in Deep Learning Models, Complex Dynamical Systems, and Computer Vision Applications in agriculture and healthcare. Dr. Sikha has authored several publications in Tier 1 journals and conferences, including CVPR, and has received multiple best paper awards. Additionally, she played a significant role in the organization of the “Calibration and Uncertainty for Multi-Rater Volume Assessment in Multi-Organ Segmentation” Challenge at MICCAI 2024, contributing to advancements in medical image analysis.
